Meet the
Certified Music Practitioner (CMP)

As a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP), Alethea is trained by the Music for Healing and Transition Program (MHTP) to be a comforting presence and to provide live, therapeutic music, one-on-one, at the bedside of patients of various conditions. She received her certification in January of 2022.

In addition to the course study, Alethea worked with the following medical facilities to complete her clinical practicum as part of the requirements in receiving her certification: Carleton-Willard Village, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and Newton-Wellesley Hopsital of Mass General Brigham. She has experience playing for patients both virtually and in-person. She is currently a CMP at Newton-Wellesley Hospital of Mass General Brigham as part of the palliative care team where she serves patients through playing therapeutic music and creating a safe, healing space.

Alethea has witnessed the positive impact music can have on the health of individuals, both ill and healthy. She believes in the healing power of music and using her music to serve others.
